3 Kinds of DVD Players That Will Vitalize Your Automobiles
DVD players for automobiles are not luxury equipments any more. They make us enjoy our big time while we are on the road. Swift development of high technology makes car electronics supplier offer these gadgets at much more affordable prices than before. There are so many different car DVD players that you might feel dazzled to find the right types. Actually, most of these players belong to the following three kinds.
The first kind is DVD player with screen that could drop from above. It is the commonest. This gadget could be attached to the front row of your car or the middle row. But equipping the gadget to the middle row is recommended, as drivers might be distracted by players on the front row. Although Car DVD players allow us to effectively kill our time, they are never equal to the safety of our family members, guests and ourselves.
The second is car DVD player that could be attached to the back of the driver’s seat or the co pilot’s seat. This kind is the safest. Drivers have no possibility to be distracted. Only people in the back seat could enjoy movies, MTVs, or anything else.
The third kind is player that pops up. You could attach the gadget to the dashboard of the vehicle or in the middle of the car. Place it in the middle of your car is recommended.
No matter which kind of DVD players you buy, double think about where to place and what personality the drivers have. If drives are easily distracted, you’d better buy the second type or equip the DVD player in the middle row of your car; if not, you could equip at any place you want.
Remember, cheap car electronics are easily got from retailers or wholesale electronics sellers, but your life couldn’t buy from any kind of suppliers. Your safety is the most important factor to consider, not how to kill your time while you are on the road.

How To Buy Repossessed Automobiles For Sale
How To Buy Repossessed Automobiles For Sale
Buying repossessed automobiles instead of brand new ones has not exactly been an uncommon practice these past years. This happens mostly for the obvious reason that the former can be bought at a mere fraction of the latter’s market price. The trick in striking this type of deal is finding out the location of these sales and knowing how to go about it so as to avoid getting taken for a ride.
The advantage that comes with buying a repossessed vehicle for sale is that the asset sold in this market is sold at a give away price. You can often get a good vehicle that is still in perfect condition in this market. However, many people are not aware of how to buy repossessed cars for sale. These repossessed vehicles are most often sourced from police impounds or banks where such cars were confiscated or taken back due to non-payment. Repo occurs when the initial purchaser is no longer able to meet the requirements of settling the remaining balances for the car purchase loan. In such situations the loaning institution remains with no choice but to repossess the car and try to sell it in a manner that the outstanding balance can be covered.
The actual repossession is assigned to a third party who takes over the task of selling the vehicles or holding auctions. Because this type of business proves to be most lucrative, it has not been a practice to publicize it. The people usually involved in it are those who are in the trade.
These sellers will buy the cars at very low prices, do a bit of necessary refurbishing, and then sell at a pretty high margin. It is therefore quite clear, that to be able to participate and benefit in these types of auctions, finding out where and when the sales will be held is of great importance.
However, there is good news for those who are not in the circle of car trading, but want to purchase a car at a great price. There are databases online that can provide the information you will need regarding these auctions. You can also search for auctions both locally and nationwide.
The first thing you need to do if you seek to purchase a repossessed car is to search within your local area and know if there are such sales that focus on repo cars. As soon as you have established that, the next you thing you have to do is get in touch with the authorities responsible for the sales and make all the pre-sale arrangements. You can get wind of the sale program and next sales dates and details from your local media such as in the local newspaper ads, or online. You will need to get contact details from such sources and get in touch with the relevant contact person to make all the necessary arrangements. If you have internet access at your disposal then you are even better positioned to find all the information you need very quickly. You can check for the latest listings online and be able to identify the kind of vehicle that you want to purchase from the
Rain, Hydroplaning and Driving Automobiles and Trucks on Wet Roads

Rain, Hydroplaning and Driving Automobiles and Trucks on Wet Roads
It’s been raining nonstop here in Southern California. Every night on the news serious accidents are being reported. Our incoming phone lines are busy with one client after another calling with accident related questions. Our web site traffic has almost doubled this week because of the bad weather and related accidents and injuries.
This weekend, Lisa had to drive up the 5 Freeway to pickup turkeys from the Second Harvest Food Bank. Together with members of our Rotary Club, she was going to distribute them later that day to several families in South Orange County. It was pouring when she left the house and started to come down even harder as the day went on.
She called me on her way home. I could tell from the sound of her voice that she was nervous.
After picking up the turkeys and heading home, her car began to hydroplane without any warning. The massive amount of rain and water on the freeway resulted in a layer of water preventing the tires of her vehicle from contacting the road surface.
Fortunately, she was able to regain control. She pulled off the freeway and took a slower and safer alternative route home.
It’s raining right now. I’m getting set to drive home. I know it’s important to share this post…
When driving in rain, snow or ice, remember that hydroplaning accidents are a very real danger. A lawyer of water on the road can prohibit your car tires from cleanly contacting the road surface.
The loss of friction between your tires and the roadway can result in the driver being unable to safely brake and steer the vehicle. In some instances, a total loss of control happens. Other factors like speeding, improperly balanced or overloaded trucks and worn out or underinflated tires can make hydroplaning even worse.
When the weather’s bad, stay home if you can. If you must drive, be careful. Slow down and please drive defensively.
I want to get home in one piece this evening and so I’ll be playing it safe behind the wheel. Please remind your family to do the same this holiday season.

How-to Clean, Detail & Protect your Automobile’s Engine
How-to Clean, Detail & Protect your Automobile’s Engine
It’s believed that cleaning your car’s engine compartment will help retain its resale value. Most automotive experts believe that car owners that make the effort to detail and maintain the motor compartment take better care of their vehicle. Auto mechanics also understand that a clean engine belongs to a driver that cares for their automobile, and they are more willing to perform their services with care.
Many car enthusiasts feel that detailing their vehicle’s engine is just the start of a long road toward vehicle perfection. Other embellishments include polishing aluminum parts, painting key parts with bright colors, and adding chrome. Whatever you choose to do, make it your style, and have fun.
Engine detailing — like other car detailing duties — is little more than scrubbing to remove dirt, oil and grease and applying protection to restore the beauty and prevent corrosion and deterioration. It’s a simple process that will take you about 45 minutes to an hour twice a year.
There are four basic steps to the job:
- Remove loose debris
- Protect electrical components
- Degrease and clean
- Protect and beautify
Remove Loose Debri
The first step is to take away the loose debris that becomes lodged in the nooks and crannies, including the hood, grille and vents. If you live in an area with all seasons, you’re already familiar with the tree leaf debris problem. If you have compressed air available, an air nozzle is an easy way to get rid of trapped leafs. If you don’t, a soft hand brush will suffice.
To loosen the grease accumulated on your engine and the engine compartment, start your engine and allow it to warm for several minutes. The best temperature for cleaning your motor is warm to the touch, but not hot.
Protect Electrical Components
Next, prepare your engine for getting wet. Cover all sensors, the distributor, spark plug openings and any electrical devices that have the potential for water accumulation. Use plastic baggies or plastic wrap to cover these items. Use tape or rubber bands to hold the plastic in place. You’re only trying to prevent the majority of the water from getting in; it does not need to be watertight. The engine environment should already be waterproof.
Degrease and Clean
After warming the engine and protecting sensitive areas, you’re ready to apply your engine degreaser. Although they are quick and easy, I warn people against the use of harsh petroleum-based cleaners in the engine compartment. They quickly dissolve grease and grime, but they also degrade your rubber and vinyl components.
When applying your motor cleaner to degrease your engine, it’s easiest to start on the lower areas and work your way up. This prevents the cleaner from dripping on you as you work on the underside. One critical thing to remember: the engine cleaner will remove
Automobiles and Braking
Automobiles and Braking
When it comes to automobiles and braking I’m the first to admit that I’m an ol’ fart, not quite so old that I recall them being called horseless carriages. But when I first started driving all gear boxes were not only stick change but crash too. For the kids this means that you had to equalize the revs between the engine and the transmission or you would hear an almighty scraping in the gear box and not be able to select the gear of your choice.
Brakes were cable operated and drum front and rear which meant that you could actually build leg muscles when braking and if you were driving at more than 30 miles per hour your chances of stopping in less than 150 feet depended upon whether you were going uphill. Hence we soon learned to use the crash gear boxes properly if we wanted to drive fast because brakes alone were insufficient to stop the vehicle.
What does this mean today? I just picked up my SUV after a 170,000 mile service and the original brake pads (I’ve had it since new) are 50% worn so I may have to worry about renewing them by the time the vehicle has a 250,000 mile service. This is because I use my stick shift gear box when braking even to this day – I’ve told my wife to put a gun to my head if I ever think of buying a car with an automatic transmission. I would see this as giving up full control of my vehicle.
Many of you are probably thinking that I’m one of these old guys that drive at half the speed limit and create traffic queues behind me just to preserve my brakes. Nothing could be further from the truth and few kids, even in sports cars, can get away from traffic lights as fast; I would consider it a sin to drive below the speed limit if conditions allow. What I am attempting to put across in this article is that one of the major reasons we have so many traffic accidents these days has nothing to do with traffic volume and a lot to do with complacency.
Is it possible that cars have been made too easy to drive that each generation of drivers has become just a little more complacent? Too many of the old drivers tasks have been automated or semi automated. I’m thinking of automatic transmissions, power steering, ABS braking, traction control and so on that each does a little bit to take away the need for a driver to have total control of the vehicle.
This brings me to the point of the debt of gratitude that all motorists owe to Formula 1 car racing because this is the only form of car racing that has constantly developed new technology that has been incorporated in the cars we buy and drive. Listed below are just a few innovations that started in Formula 1 Grand Prix Racing:
- Thin wall main and big end bearings.
- Hydraulic brakes.
- Disc brakes.
- ABS Braking systems
- Carbon fiber brakes.
- Independent suspension.
- Multi valve cylinders.
- Aerodynamic body design.
- Traction control.
